ARTIST STATEMENT.

My most passionate memories were feeling a vivid link with a painting in a book. I want to move and provoke the viewer as well. I also feel that when viewers see the end result, there is an immediate relation and bond. To feel in a combined stream feeds my energy with the spark of vitality.

When I look at my finished work, I feel struck with déjà vu. I have seen the painting before, felt this feeling before, and time stops. I use as subjects quite often splendid and fantastic creatures. Although these romantic creatures live on the earth, I may stylize them with a twist of inventiveness through colors and textures.

For me painting is about color. An obsession with how colors go together. Drawing alone could never hold my attention as much as the multi-hued array of oils from the tube squeezed onto the palette. Here are an infinite variety of colors, now my attention span meshes with the possibilities, my world appears with the hope others can see in their own way.
